Our School Is Safe but Many Families Lost Their Homes
The Sunantha Camila School sustained only minor damage. It was designed with structural safety in mind and built to meet all required safety standards.
Many of our students' families were not as fortunate. Several homes were severely damaged, and some collapsed completely. Many families are without running water or electricity.

A Message to Our Supporters
Dear Supporters,
Many have reached out to inquire about our students in Colombia. The 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit very close to Circasia where the Sunantha Camila School is located.
Luckily we built the school with a prominent architect who had structural safety in mind and met all of the codes required for a school. While there was only minor damage to the School, the homes of the families of our students were devastated including those who have graduated over the School's 10+ year history.
Some of these makeshifts homes collapsed completely. There is no running water or electricity.
We have been working to provide food, water, and other essential supplies.
We are also providing remote schooling for those students who are unable to attend school in person.
We would appreciate any donation you could offer during this challenging time.

The Sunantha Camila school is a non-profit pre-school for children of high risk including those living in extreme poverty, victims of sexual, physical, and verbal abuse, malnourished, in poor health. The mission is to provide free, individualized education using the Maria Montessori and Reggio Emilia approach to children aged 3-5. Additionally, we continue to support children locally and in other parts of the world, with ongoing efforts in Thailand and South Africa.
